Singaporean Lolitas, UNITE? xD!
Aug. 19th, 2008 10:07 pmThere's less than TEN DAYS!1!!one! before I finally get to drag my suitcase downstairs and leave for Singapore! *BEAMS!* FINALLY... I really need a vacation. >.>
Since there was a surprisingly big amount of interest in a Lolita meet-up, I'm thinking of organising one. O.o; Keep in mind that I've never done this before, but I did tag along to an LJ meet-up last year so I vaguely know what kind of planning and troubles to expect.
Who would be interested in coming? =) What would you like to do...? Is there anything you don't want to do that I should keep in mind? *laughs!* I know it's going to be tricky since September is the fasting month, so if there are any fasting Lolitas who'd like to join, let me know! ^^;;
I was kind of thinking of ordering a Loli-esque cake and perhaps having a little picnic somewhere. O.o; B-but, there is the problem of the heat and I don't want our cake to melt. What about going to a cute/cozy little cafe (...or wherever it is they sell cakes? Like Coffee Connoisseurs? X.x) and just hanging out there for a while? I had an awesome radioactive blue muffin in Vivocity once, haha.
I have no idea what people do during a Lolita meet-up, so I'd greatly appreciate all your ideas! I want to make it fun for everyone... I also don't really like the idea of just meeting up for the sake of taking pictures and getting collectively stared at by strangers. There has to be some kind of PURPOSE, right?
I thought about having some kind of crafty workshop, but I fail at crafts... so unless anyone would like to volunteer to teach us how to make cute stuff, I don't think that'll work.
I was thinking of having the meet-up during the weekend of the 13th and 14th of September, by the way. I won't be available on the 6th and 7th. =)
Edit: UPDATE! So far, it looks like it'll be on the 13th (I am pretty sure this is a Saturday?) and take place at The Cookie Museum at the Esplanade. =)

Date: 2008-08-20 10:34 am (UTC)Seriously, mine is more of Gothic Lolita but guess it'll do. -__^ Will be wearing my "old" one as dun have the money to get the next one done yet unless I risk it and just send it in by end of this week since all the cloths and trimmings are at hand since ages ago.
Am free on Saturdays I think; will have to check out later what's my Sept working schedule is like.
Oh gosh! I think I also should get new lipstick!

Date: 2008-08-20 12:41 pm (UTC)Gothic is fine, too... Just because we're eating cookies and muffins doesn't mean we have to wear Sweet Lolita, right? *laughs!*
I think I'll wear my tartan JSK, so it has some black in it and it'll match you a little? ;) It depends on what I buy in Singapore, though. Maybe I'll find something new to wear! *excited!*
I think it might be the 13th, then? That's a Saturday, right? O.o;;
LOL! New lipstick? :D
