Yu-Gi-OOOH! xD (...review of the Dutch dub!)

I kind of overdosed on Yu-Gi-Oh! last night... X.x I finally got to pick up my new Yu-Gi-Oh! Het Hart v/d Kaarten DVD yesterday! *grin!* I bought it with my new eBay account: shopaholic_snowflake. I'll be using it to sell a couple of things soon, but I'm collecting a bit of feedback first. xD

Anyway, the DVD is pretty awesome. *beams!* It's got both the Dutch and the English dub... obviously I'm not very fond of the English voices so I watched all three episodes in Dutch last night. I'm a little disappointed it isn't Flemish (SOB!), but it's still a thousand times better than the 4Kids version.

Pepijn Gunneweg voices Yuugi and Yami in the Dutch dub... and strangely enough: it works. O.o; Yuugi's not as annoyingly whingy as he usually is. THANK GOD. (I'm sorry! I can't stand any of Yuugi's English voices! Not even his Singapore one! T.T)

Dieter Jansen (who voices Joey!) has a surprisingly cool website. O.o; Oh, and Lottie Hellingman (Anzu!) even has a fansite. It has a list of Yu-Gi-Oh! characters and a number of screencaps. *grin!*

Sometimes the 100% Dutch (as it is spoken in The Netherlands!) really gets on my nerves, but they found a perfect solution for that: Rex Raptor is voiced by a very distinctive Belgian voice actor. Actually, I think it's fair to say Rex sounds more Belgian than I do. Those who have met me IRL know I have a pretty heavy Antwaarps accent when I am not at Build-A-Bear Workshop (I can luckily turn it on and off! xD), so when I say Rex has an accent... I MEAN IT. This dude is hilarious. He says ge/gij to Mai, haha.

Afterwards I watched episode 1 -> 10 of YGO: The Abridged Series! and when I got bored with that I... went to look for wishshipping AMVs. ^^; Obviously, I ended up watching puzzleshipping AMVs within five minutes. *cough!* I'm sorry, aefallen.

This one made me cry at 3:30 AM. T.T *broken heart!* Oh, Yami. You're so painful to watch. Siigh. Yami's definitely my new Wolfram (YUGI WHO?!). I just want him to be happy.

Yuugi's English voices... make him sound old XD? After I heard his Japanese one, I couldn't hear his English ones without cringing~

I think the Japanese one makes him sound old, too. O.o; The Singaporean dub makes him sound really whiny and young.... but their Joey is the super awesome specialest. *laughs!* Yuugi doesn't sound right anywhere? I'm so picky.

There is this boy called Akira from Hikaru no Go who is my new Wolfram, I think. I may one day love him as much as I love Wolfram, which is saying a lot.

That is such a detailed summary on the Dutch dub! I happily collect reviews on the different YGO dubs, so this amuses me! I would put several hearts here, except for the fact that I AM FILLED WITH HAET as you see from the above comments, so no hearts for you today! I may even put it into my memories if I recover enough to do that!
