Ahum. I should probably start this LJ entry by mentioning that this is [livejournal.com profile] little_ribbon gone completely insane... and that the insanity is inspired by Girl on Girl (by Clear Men! GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER! xD), in particular the second episode on YouTube. *laughs!*

I BOUGHT A DURIAN IN ANTWERP. I was very excited about it, too. Until I noticed it was hairy. ^^;;

It was certainly very interesting. O.o I had my doubts about the safety of this particular durian, so [livejournal.com profile] sarahcoldheart, [livejournal.com profile] seki_yumizu and [livejournal.com profile] arrch where there to guide me through the process of opening a rotten durian. *headdesk!*

I hope this prevents someone (like me!) from spending €4 a kilo on a rotten durian. xD

That's about all I can say about that durian. :') I'm a little disappointed it turned out to be so incredibly gross (fungus <3! ... NOT!) on the inside - I was kind of looking forward to trying it with vanilla ice cream and traumatising my family. *g!*

Edit: I found the entry where I first talked about finding durians in Antwerp! It's here! xD Damn, these look SO MUCH BETTER...? I wish I'd bought one then instead! T.T The one I just opened is from a slightly dodgier shop, whoops...

XD

Even though it was rotten, it was quite the.. Experience, mhm? I mean, its not everyday you get to clean out a rotten durian. o.O

It was definitely an interesting experience! *dies laughing!*

... it's surprisingly hard to open them while not hurting your hands. Maaaaaybe it was harder because it was all squishy, but I don't know? xD

Omg... Does rotten durian smell better or worse than not rotten durian? Now you've made me curious.

xD It didn't smell badly at all! I was expecting it to be much worse since last time I could smell the durian being sold from across the street. *g!*

It kind of smelled exactly like the durian [livejournal.com profile] sarahcoldheart took me out to eat in Singapore... Not too badly, but very recognisable. ^^;;

... "unique odour"! xDD MWUAHAHA!

I feel sick just remembering yesterday. O.o There was nothing sweet or nutty about it, haha.

OH MAN I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR THAT POST. I have to make a label for tropical fruit for one of my graphic design classes, and I couldnt for the life of me remember WHAT these were called! I just remembered your post about them! Hahaha, nice timing!

Heehee! I have to draw it, so I'll have to scan it to show you! Although now I'm not sure if I'm going to use the durian, because I can't find a good picture of the inside...I might use mangosteen instead. idk :D

Oh wow! I'm part Indonesian, and durian is so popular there - I hate the stuff, especially the smell, and I've never been able to bring myself to eat it!

Gack. Your post made me laugh though!

^^;; I don't mind products made with durian like... ice cream or durian cake? It tastes okay, IMO. I don't like the pure stuff right out of the fruit, though. [livejournal.com profile] sarahcoldheart took me out to eat it once and I only took like two bites. *dies!*

Too squishy~! xD I wanted to buy this one and try it to see if I'd like it better now I know what to expect. ;)

I'm glad I made you laugh! xD I think I just traumatised everyone else... *g!*
